Jolene Sheehan
Jolene is a friend, mum, wife, and community leader based in South Manchester. With 22 years of teaching experience, she founded Joy Ethic, a social enterprise committed to nurturing creativity and connection.
Her partnership with Chris, sparked by a shared enthusiasm for creativity, has continued to uplift her.
Jolene’s mornings begin with stream-of-consciousness writing or reflective questioning, practices supported by a community that fuels her gratitude and creativity. This collection of poems is her gift to the world, crafted during a time when she most needed their guidance and comfort. These verses are intended to offer the same solace to others, embodying the creative spirit that lies at the heart of all her endeavors.
Chris Bridgeman
Chris is a seasoned Graphic Design professional for nearly 30 years working with clients of all sizes his creativity can’t help spinning over into fine art, 3D and image manipulation. He’s also quite camera shy!
This project has taken several years in their spare time to realise. It’s been a wonderful journey full of back and forth ideas and new discovery.
Inspired by Jolene’s writing Chris felt compelled to put images to her beautiful words. Not an illustrator by training this has led to varied approaches throughout the book to suit each poem based on his years of creative design.
Chris with typical humour classes art and design as “right up there” with oxygen and food. He hopes you love the book and the true escape it provides within its beautiful words and considered pictures. He feels sometimes things just happen for a reason.
This collaboration from a rainy morning chat was just one such fortuitous event.
